Gambling help, limits and the desk

Help with gambling in British Columbia is confidential and costs nothing to use. The budget planner below helps set a limit before a visit, and the end of the page explains how the guide works.

Where to get help

  • Gambling Support BC answers at 1-888-795-6111 at any hour, at no cost and in confidence. A call reaches a navigator who helps right away, finds local services or connects the caller with a free counsellor.
  • The website gamblingsupportbc.ca belongs to the same provincial program, run by the Independent Gambling Control Office. Help there is open to any B.C. resident, including people affected by someone else's gambling.
  • Game Break is BCLC's voluntary self-exclusion program, with terms of 6 months, 1 year, 2 years or 3 years that cover PlayNow.com. A chosen term cannot be changed, and enrolment is in person at any casino with government-issued photo ID.
  • The on-site GameSense information centre at Chances Casino Kelowna on Springfield Road explains games, odds and personal limits. Every casino in B.C., Playtime on Water Street included, has a GameSense Advisor available.

Setting a limit before a visit

Two limits are worth setting at home: how much money goes to the casino and how long the visit lasts. The planner on this page splits that budget per hour, so the amount reads as a rate rather than one lump sum. Chances Casino Kelowna has several ATMs on the casino floor, and table chips there can be bought with cash at the table. With cash that close, deciding the plan before leaving matters. The legal age for casino gambling in British Columbia is 19.

A limit for the evening

Your money, your hours, your stop time

Divide the money by the hours: that is the most to spend in any one hour. Leave at the stop time, whatever the screen says.

How the Okanagan desk works

Kelowna Casinos is written and signed collectively as the Okanagan desk. No page carries a personal byline, and the desk is a shared name, not a person. The young woman in the pictures is a character created for the guide with an image generator. She is not an author, not staff and not a real person.

Facts were checked on October 11, 2026, against the two casinos' own pages, the Province of British Columbia, Gambling Support BC and BC Transit data. The 3 km distance between the casinos is a straight line between OpenStreetMap coordinates. Driving routes on actual roads are longer.

There are no forms, comments or accounts on the site, and it takes no bets. The only thing kept about a reader is the colour theme chosen in the browser tab.
